Jens Radda was born in Somerset West, South Africa on the 10 November 1995. He has always enjoyed singing and playing piano, and started taking singing lessons at the age of 9. At the age of 10, Jens flew to Denmark alone to visit his family and on his trip he performed a series of Christmas songs at his great-grandmother's age care facility.

When Jens was 11, he and his family moved to Australia from his hometown in South Africa. As he continued his singing in Australia, Jens entered a local junior vocal competition "Search for a Mooloolaba Star" and won the under-18 age group.
