Jens Radda is a performer, writer, and creative producer whose work bridges cabaret, theatre, and screen.
Before moving to Australia in 2007, he grew up in South Africa in a Danish and Afrikaans-speaking family, with sprinkles of Dutch and German in the mix. He is best known as the creator and performer behind Skank Sinatra, an award-winning drag cabaret persona that blends big-band glamour, live vocals, and theatrical wit for audiences across Australia and Europe. His other original touring productions include Madame Martha’s Parisian Cabaret, The Cabaret Hour, Skank Sinatra’s Dirty Martini Lineup, and Mass Hysteria. He performs regularly between Australia and Europe, creating work that celebrates music, humour, and high camp. As an actor, Jens originated roles in All My Friends Are Racist (ABC TV) and Single, Out (Melbourne Indie Pro), and will appear in the upcoming international feature film Play Dead, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Stage highlights include Ruthless The Musical (Sylvia Swing, Stagebugs Productions 2024), We Will Rock You (Killer Queen, Coastal Theatre Collective 2024), She Slayed: The Drag Murder Mystery (MICF 2024, Mardi Gras 2025), Grease (Teen Angel, Cope Creative/De Jager Productions 2023), The Serpent’s Teeth (KXT Kings Cross Theatre 2018), I Walk In Your Words (ATYP 2018), A Chorus Line (Mad About Theatre 2018), and Chicago (Mad About Theatre 2017). A graduate of WAAPA’s Bachelor of Music Theatre (2016), Jens later trained in clowning with Philippe Gaulier (Paris, 2017 & 2022) and at the Complete Vocal Institute (Copenhagen, 2019). |
